Hint: the big boys are on their way, be prepared…
For clients of mine, it’s got to be one of the most common issues in the modern online ‘social’ world they’ve had.
You’ve gone and created a GREAT website, and don’t get me wrong, the developers have done a good job. It’s looking smart.
You then start sharing this and what you are all about on social media. You’re putting out offers and you’re getting a couple of likes, but it’s HIGHLY likely, there are few customers connecting with you right?
Creating an online connection point for your customer is essential, it’s how a mass amount of them can find you. However, making a website is just one strategy, and most likely one of the LAST ones you should be using…
In my opinion, BEFORE you push the ‘go live’ button on that top quality website, I think the focus should lie on these 3 key areas:
✅ // 1 // SOLVING YOUR IDEAL CLIENT’S PROBLEM
Have you ever turned around to yourself and wondered, who do I LOVE working for?
You are obviously great at what you do and have ambitions that you’d love to reach – but, it’s not just about the money, that will follow.
I understand, the world revolves around it. BUT, isn’t the key to any business first to solve a problem? If you are solving the problem, people will happily pay for YOU to fix it.
It’s important to take time and discover how to maximise your efforts…
✅ // 2 // MAXIMISE YOUR EFFORTS
Does the internet suggest you spend time creating a multitude of content that ‘ticks the box’? Is all this content really useful?
Algorithms on popular online platforms such as Facebook and co are constantly changing, and will always focus on human satisfaction. We don’t like spam.
Content is key, absolutely. However, are you speaking to your ideal audience and giving them what’s helping them to solve their problems?
We’ve heard quality over quantity, right?
✅ // 3 // TARGETED QUALITY
Many of us have a smartphone and my goodness do they do some great stuff. Beauty is, we can ALL produce content.
Knowing your audience as previously mentioned, is paramount. So once you do, entrepreneurs tend to go out there and post how your business helps those by doing X, Y and F, however, it’s a little more detailed than that.
You are not supposed to be showing how great YOU are, but how you understand your customer’s position and needs.
You CAN’T simply keep posting offers and links to how great your service is. Yeah, your service is GREAT, your product is GREAT, but if you want to reach that NEXT LEVEL with your business, you have to understand them.
As a side to this – any old’ content isn’t going to ‘cut’ it these days. It needs to be consistent, to the point and the quality needs to MATCH your brand…plus it’s ideally got to be video.
I’m not saying everyone needs to hire super amazing video production companies, it’s not necessary for the smaller businesses. However, once a video has made an impression, there’s no taking that back – it has to align with the brand and attract your ideal customers.
This nicely ties in with the GREAT website you have or are planning on creating. Who is REALLY being directed to it? Are they interested at this point? Do they care it looks good? All your customer’s care about is that you care about them – a great website for them to discover that is secondary.
Obviously, there are a million and 1 strategies in businesses, it depends where you are in your journey and where you NEED to be.
Every is sequential.
