Auckland, New Zealand
This blog is going to be short.
We boarded a massive plane, it was great.
We visited Auckland City centre, it was St Patrick’s Day so full of drunk people and highly undesirable.
– Our arrival was all about 1’s. Our airport exit door was number 11, our car space was 1111 and our hotel room was also 11…spook alert
– If you ever go to Auckland, go eat at Elliot Stables, it’s a wonderfully quiet and unique place in which several restaurants occupy and share the same indoor space so you can eat anywhere and sit anywhere within a gourmet environment
– New Zealand is a little like Wales, a little less sheep and a bit more steam (more later)
– Whatever you do, do not smuggle a Queensland Fruit Fly into the country. Seriously, I’ve never seen so much security, bag checks and panic in any airport security. Luckily for us we hadn’t helped a fly gain asylum, but I did have my red apple confiscated.
